Greek class

Cooking class

Greek cooking class.

Our newest kitchen, and the first one that is not Asian. Five dishes, from tzatziki you make yourself to an orange cake made of filo pastry.

What is a Greek cooking class at Julia’s?

A Greek cooking class at Julia’s Cooking Studio is three hours of cooking, in which you make tzatziki, warm pita bread, souvlaki from the grill, moussaka from the oven, and portokalopita as an orange cake of filo pastry.

This is the first cuisine here that is not Asian, and the first where the oven stays on all evening. Five dishes instead of three, because a Greek table does not work with fewer.

Tzatziki you make yourself is a different dish from the tub.

Yoghurt, cucumber and garlic, and beyond that it is a question of just enough of each. Then the pita bread, warm off the plate, to scoop up the tzatziki, and the souvlaki on the grill.

The moussaka is in the oven longest, with aubergine, mince and a thick layer of bechamel, so you start that early. At the end comes the portokalopita, and that is unlike any dessert you know.
